Five reasons we don’t have a Five article ready for today.
You may have noticed that every Friday, around this time, we have an article called The Five. We’ve had one about the monster hiding under your bed. We’ve had one about Harry Potter. We’ve even had one about Biblical interpretation. We enjoy writing them and we have enjoyed your response to them. Sadly, after 8 straight weeks of new content, we’ve dropped the ball. Big time. Yet, we are not above making excuses, so here are the top five reasons we didn’t do a Five article this week.
1. Our publishing was off schedule this week.
Typically, we publish new content on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Since March 1st landed on a Tuesday, and we wanted to kick off the month with our Easter content, we held our first article until Tuesday. So, our timing was thrown off and the rest is history.
2. We actually have some good Easter themed Five articles planned for later this month, but none of them were ready.
Does that really need more explanation? I hope not because words are hard for me to type right now. It’s early. I’m sleepy.
3. We forgot.
We’ve been so busy trying to come up with Easter related content, we simply forgot about The Five this week.
4. We are lazy.
Number 3 is a complete lie. We didn’t forget. We were simply too lazy to actually write one. Our bad.
5. Fill in the blank.
In the comments section below, tell us why we didn’t have a Five article this week. Come up with your best excuse for this huge oversight.
So there you have it. At this point, you might be wondering why there is a picture of a dog with this article, since it clearly has nothing to do with dogs. There is a very good reason for the picture: that dog is super cute. I hoped readers would see this dog, smile at how cute it is, and then sort of overlook the fact that we completely failed this week for The Five.

#5. We were too busy voting, or at least too busy complaining about how other people voted.
Using politics won’t help you out here Mike.
I was reading Leviticus and Surprised by Hope, so I didn’t have time. Rambling Ever on Juke!
My excuse is that I was busy escaping from the Sarlacc pit where I was slowly being digested for a 1,000 years.
Ben, your excuse is valid and accepted.
This Friday feels more like a Thursday. And it’s all about how I feel. It’s a Thursday trapped in a Friday.
