Judgment of Fictitious Standards (Considering Ecclesiastes)

I thought in my heart, “God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed.

Ecclesiastes 3:17

Judgment of Fictitious Standards

Reel lords astound dizzy denizens drifting like boats. 

They whirl and twirl amid legions of thespians. 

Producers live in the underworld purchasing sensations, and 

directors adore them; all this for movie mayhem. 

It isn’t surprising that Earthlings are so confused.  

They will all be estimated by their portraits. 

These false makers will vainly yield finite rewards 

as thousands wait for something to result from 

their ultimately trivial labor of make-believe love.

Leigh dances in Tara’s happy lea, 

but she too will be judged. 

They dissect the characters, who seem 

sympathetic, making their names seem holy. 

See, view their explanatory, so-called rational verifications. 

None of them is worthy of mankind’s worship. 

They have too greatly omitted God; 

they will be judged, and will directly end.  

Don’t esteem their charm too much, 

nor their regal ways too highly. 

Few ideas are wise and right.

Many go against God, following the 

ideals of false makers imitating society. 

Now sabers clash and sparks alight; 

now winds whirl, wasting urban lands; 

for the judgment of fictitious standards 

has taken souls with the wind.
