The Rambling Ever On 2022 Year in Review

2022 is over. Welcome to the new year. We hope 2022 was a great year for you. It was an up and down year for Rambling Ever On. It was our biggest year ever, yet in some ways, we are still trying to figure out how to do this thing without our friend Ben Plunkett. As it has been from the beginning, our focus is to find truth, beauty, and joy in life, and we hope we lived up to that in 2022.

For the first time in our history, we have decided to do a “Year in Review.” Our focus today is to spotlight our most viewed articles that were published in 2022. These are the twelve articles that inspired the strongest response from our readers. If we say so ourselves, they are a pretty good reflection of the Rambling Ever On ethos. They also highlight the eclectic variety of what we do here.

Enough preamble. Here are the Top Twelve articles of 2022. We hope you enjoy this stroll down memory lane and thanks again for reading. (Editor’s note: Click the images below to read the articles.)

12. Gentle and Lowly: A Review Of The Most Celebrated New Christian Book

Gentle and Lowly is one of the most popular Christian books to come out in the last few years. And for good reason. Gowdy Cannon dives into what made the book so successful by celebrating all the things Dan Ortland gets right as well as some gentle pushback in needed areas.

11. The Bible and the Idol of “Family is Everything”

Coming in at number 11, we have Gowdy’s second entry. This time, he aims his sights on the dangers of making an idol of our family. This one definitely connected with a lot of people.

5. 20 Years Later, I Still Love Welch

All of our writers graduated from Welch College, so it makes sense that we have a few things to say about our Alma mater. We took a trip down memory lane for our 5th most viewed article of 2022.

4. Matt Chandler and Being Slow to Judge

We rarely wade into the murky waters of “hot takes” or modern controversy, but this felt too big to overlook. As usual, Gowdy Cannon approaches the Matt Chandler news with grace and wisdom.

3. The Top Fifty Petra Songs of All Time

Petra

At number 3 for 2022, our Top 50 Petra Songs list. The Lytle Brothers tackled this one with additional voting by two long-time friends and Petra fans.

2. Whiteheart: Top 40 Songs of All Time

Whiteheart

Our number 2 article of 2022 was another music list. This time, we set our eyes on the Top 40 Whiteheart songs of all time. This one generated a lot of reaction on our social media accounts and even inspired one of the founders of Whiteheart to post his top 40.

1. Dear Son, I Will Not Abandon My Faith for You

Dear son

We have rarely had an article that exploded like this one. It clearly struck a chord with a lot of people.

Final Thoughts
